CHALLENGE
As digital terrestrial (free-to-air) television gives way to internet-supported TV streaming, the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) wanted to understand how the UK's TV landscape evolve by 2040, and which audiences risk being left behind.
APPROACH
Our research project forecasted the UK TV landscape to 2040 — platforms, interfaces and viewing habits — and ran an access-based segmentation to map the barriers and enablers facing audiences most reliant on digital terrestrial TV.
IMPACT
Our research now underpins DCMS's Future of TV policy workstream, shaping where government focuses its next wave of decision-making.
